Frequently Asked Questions About New Provisions
in the Illinois Public Accounting Act:
Public Act 93-683 (Senate Bill 2108) was signed into
law on July 2, 2004. It amends the Illinois Public
Accounting Act in three important areas of interest
to Illinois CPAs: (1) licensing & registration
requirements; (2) ethics requirements; and (3)
audit/non-audit services in the private company
environment. Like most laws, the new provisions will
have to be supplemented by regulations that explain,
in greater detail, specifically how various
requirements will be administered.
